Hop'd is a favorite of both Hop Heads and those who enjoy a cold beer-like taste in their kombucha. We brew our Hop'd Kombucha to be like a blonde lambic, in beer terms. Crisp, refreshing, and perfect for a warm day. Enjoy by itself or enjoy as a mix.

Only female hops have the gland that produces oils desirable forbrewing. Male and female hops grow on separate plants, so male hops are removed to prevent fertilization. Large commercial hops fields are entirely female.
Hops are also used medicinally as a sleep aid. A popular folk remedy for sleeplessness is filling a pillow with hops. Many farms in the Appalachian region kept a hop bine for this reason.

Most beers brewed today contain hops, but that wasn’t always the case. Early brewers flavored their beers with a variety of herbs and plants such as rosemary, coriander, ginger, juniper berries, or an herb mixture called gruit.

Hops grow vertically on bines, not vines. The difference in the two is a bine grows upward climbing around a separate support, whereas vines grow on a structure using tendrils and roots.
